Kehoe named ICF female player of 2022

Inside Caribbean Football has named Molly Kehoe as the 2022 female player of the year for the Cayman Islands. ICF made the announcement on Thursday.

Kehoe, undoubtedly, had a busy 2022 all-round, playing for both the football and rugby national teams, while keeping up gameplay in the local domestic leagues.

The 18-year-old Caymanian represented her country at a senior level and in the under-20’s.

She played in the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers and the CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship Qualifiers.

Her most notable national performance was in 2021, where she scored the most goals at five during the CONCACAF Women’s U-20 qualifiers. Her performance helped her team advance to the 2022 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship round of 16 against Canada, which Cayman lost.

Kehoe also finished the 2021-22 season with Sunset FC as one of the top scorers for the Cayman Islands Football Association women’s league and won the CIFA Charity Shield, President’s Cup and the FA Cup.

She has since transferred to Elite SC, where she helped claim the Charity Shield and has already scored 12 goals in six games for the 2022-23 season.

Kehoe joins Mason Duval who was named the ICF male player of the year for Cayman.
