Caymanian swimmer Jordan Crooks has made the 16th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) 100 free semifinals after a blistering pace in his preliminary round this morning.
Crooks touched the wall at 45.61 seconds during heat six, to qualify with the fastest time registered for the 100m heats heading into the semifinals.
He also knocked 3.86 seconds off his previous best and set a new national record, topping Olympian Shaune Fraser’s national record of 47.61 set in 2010.
The semifinals are scheduled to begin at 4am Cayman time on Wednesday, December 14.
