Cayman sails to first at Jammin Regatta in Jamaica

Cayman Islands boats won first and second place in the Jammin Regatta, Montego Bay Harbour, Jamaica at the weekend. For skipper, and former Commodore of the Cayman Islands Sailing Club, Mike Farrington this was his fifth regatta win – the last being in 2019.

Farrington and crew mates Karin McGrath and Joseph Paolone won in a competitive field of 11 J22 Class sailboats in the series. Adjusted triumphed racing in winds between 16 to 25 knots.

Second-placed skipper Bruce Johnson sailed well in Yahoo with crew mates Mark Edmunds, Karl Mullee, and Emily Runnoe. Both boats were sponsored by Seaboard Marine.

The Cayman crews – all Cayman Islands Sailing Club members

– sailed against two teams from Kingston, six from Mo Bay, and one from Texas, USA on Saturday 3, and Sunday, 4 Dec.

1st Place Adjusted (Cayman) 9 points

2nd Place Yahoo (Cayman) 12 Points

3rd Place Ayahso (Montego Bay) 25 points

The 33rd annual Jammin Regatta was hosted by the Montego Bay Yacht Club.
