The 2022 Cayman Islands National Swimming Championships started this morning and is gearing up for the first night of finals – tonight – at the Camana Bay Aquatic Center swimming pool.
Finals this evening start at 6 p.m. and will see some of Cayman’s fastest young swimmers racing in the finals of the 800m freestyle, 1500m freestyle, 200m breaststroke, 50m backstroke and 100m butterfly.
Swimming continues Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (March 4-6) with prelims at 8 a.m. on Friday, and at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday; and finals at 6 p.m. (tonight and Friday, 4) and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
With the CARIFTA Swimming Championships returning this year, this is the last chance for Cayman’s CARIFTA hopefuls to make qualifying time.
