Scholars ISC continued their winning ways into round two of the Cayman Island Football Association Men’s Premier League after a dominant 6-1 victory over East End UFC Saturday (January 22) afternoon.
Taking the match ball following a greedy hunt for goal was Scholars long time striker Kimani Finn, who registered the first hat trick of the men’s 2021-22 season.
The two teams faced off at the Ed Bush Stadium in West Bay, where Finn found the back of the net just six minutes into the game.
Teammate Edroy Williams followed up with another goal in the 12th minute but just before half-time, it was Finn again with his second.
Cayman Islands national player and Scholar’s veteran Jonah Ebanks made the score 4-0, just before Finn capitalised on his third goal in 62nd minute. Scholar’s Clayon Forrest then scored the final goal for his team on the 80-minute mark.
Despite Scholars efforts to keep a clean sheet, Sean Ebanks of East End would score during the two added minutes just before the referee blew his whistle.
In addition, Bodden Town FC defeated George Town SC 4-0, while Future SC edged Elite SC, 1-0 during their derby match.
