The Cayman Islands senior women’s national football team put on arguably the best performance in recent memory during their three game international tournament in Turks and Caicos Islands.
While the tournament was friendly competition, Cayman poured-on a merciless showing, winning all three matches, scoring 13 goals in the process and conceding none.
The Caymanian ladies defeated Bahamas 4-0 in their opening match, then topped US Virgin Islands 5-0. In the final game Monday (August 2) evening, Cayman picked up the double over Bahamas, mirroring the scoreline of their previous encounter.

Cayman claimed bragging rights at the TCIFA National Academy on Monday when they defeated Bahamas for the second time to win first place and overall best team for the respective tournament.
Cayman’s striker Susani Lucas wasted little time to put her team ahead, scoring six minutes into the match. Lucas is the only player from Cayman to score in every game she played during the tournament.
Just under the 10 minute mark, Neesah Godet made it 2-0. In the second half, Cayman’s Serena Nelson would steal the show with two back to back last minute goals; scoring once in 90th minute and again in added time, finishing the game 4-0.
The Cayman team is expected to return home on Tuesday (August 3).
