Stingray Swim Club duo take first at Flowers Swim

For the second year in a row Jake Bailey, of Stingray Swim Club, took first male at the annual Flowers Sea Swim but this time he was joined by teammate Raya Embury-Brown who took first female.

While the race capped off at 500 swimmers during registration due to COVID-19 regulations, 403 swimmers took to the water off Seven Mile Beach for 29th annual one mile swim between the Westin hotel and Coral Beach on Saturday, (19 June).

Bailey crossed the line first in 18 minutes and 52 seconds. Embury-Brown placed fifth overall while taking first woman clocking in at 19.47.

“Sending an especially big thank you to all our members who helped by volunteering, swimming or cheering the swimmers on,” the Cayman Islands Aquatic Sport Association stated. “This is a true community event and we are grateful to see our CIASA community out in full force to support such a great event.”
