Sharks, Mourant Panthers, Blackhawks and Senators all won their respective divisions in the Cayman Islands Hockey Federation League finals at King’s Sports Centre on Saturday, 12 June.
17U-Adult Division – Sharks won 14 – 7 against Ducks
15U – Overtime finish – Mourant Panthers ranked #2 defeated #1 ranked Rangers 11 – 10 in overtime.
12U – Blackhawks won 6 – 1 against Penguins.
9U – Senators won 5 – 1 against Calderwood Lightning
Kevin Huys of the Cayman Islands Hockey Federation stated in press release that he was pleased with how the sport has developed over the years.
“The Resurgence of Youth Hockey has been a priority for the Cayman Islands Inline Hockey Federation,” said Huys. “As a Federation we are committed to the development of Youth Hockey in the Cayman Islands and we are very pleased to see the growth in the number of younger players over the past 9 months. We are also very pleased to see the improvement in skills and team play and the overall excitement for hockey that has been on display at King’s over the past 9 months.”
The new hockey season is schedule to take place this September.
