While much of Grand Cayman experienced overcast skies and rain, conditions at Seven Mile Beach were perfect for the 18th Annual Butterfield Sea Swim Saturday (May 22) afternoon.
“We were watching the weather closely but it turned out to be a beautiful day for an open water swim,” CIASA Open Water Director Duke Sullivan stated in a press release.
Jake Bailey cross the finish line first clocking 10 minutes and 47 seconds ahead of 91 other swimmers. Behind Bailey was Liam Henry (10:59) who recently returned home from his school, Indian River State College.
Taking third was Seven Mile Swimmers’ Will Sellars (11:01) and two seconds behind him, finishing fourth while taking first female was Stingray’s Raya Embury-Brown.
Earning second and third female was Seven Mile Swimmer’s sisters Jasmine Lambert-Wragg (11:42) and Kathryn Lambert-Wragg (12:07) respectively.
