Elite claims undisputed title after FA Cup win

Elite SC women’s team, now holds the undisputed crown for the 2020-21 Cayman Islands Football Association season, after capturing the FA Cup Sunday (May 16) night at the Annex, marking their fourth title victory.

Elite kicked off their greedy silverware search by claiming the CIFA Charity Shield back in September, then winning the president’s cup in March. They went on to win the league last month by a single point ahead of runners-up Sunset, who finished with 35 points.

Elite would prevail yet again in their final task en route to the undisputed crown after defeating Sunset in dramatic fashion.

The match went nil-all until the final minute where Elite’s team captain Tyanna Jan made a key pass to teammate Janel Ebanks, who capitalised, erupting celebrations throughout the Annex stadium as the game came to a close seconds after.

“This is our first year winning all four cups,” Elite women’s coach Martha Godet said after the game. “I am very proud of them.”
