British racing driver Josh Mason will take his motorsport career into continental Europe this year as he joins Double R Racing in the Euroformula championship.
Mason, 19, who is sponsored by Team Bovell and RE/MAX Cayman Islands is a multiple-time race-winner in BRDC British Formula 3 and has also raced in the MRF Challenge since moving into single-seater racing in 2018.
“I’m really looking forward to racing in the Euroformula Open this year with Double R Racing,” said Mason. “From racing in the UK in British F3 I feel ready for the next step. I’m really excited to race on grand prix tracks against strong drivers. Just can’t wait to get back on track and start competing. I want to say a big thanks to my sponsors and partners for this year – Remax Cayman, Axon LTD, Bovell and Azure Jets.”
Bovell stated on its Facebook page that they “are proud to partner with this young driver who has just stepped up to Euroformula open F3 series.”
Mason is the second Double R driver to be announced for 2021, joining Zdenek Chovanec in the team’s fleet of lightweight, halo-shod Dallara 320s.
