Scholars International Sports Club claimed the Cayman Islands Football Association Premier League trophy after beating Latinos 1-0 Sunday night (28 Feb) at the Ed Bush Stadium.
The game served as the final league match for the 2020-21 season. Scholars had previously beat Sunset 2-0 during round 16; a game that automatically secured Scholars the league title.
While Scholars ultimately captured the league following their victory over Sunset, they were presented with their trophy after their final match against Latinos.
“Congratulations to Scholars ISC for winning the league,” CIFA wrote on their Facebook page. Additionally, the association announced that Roma USC will be relegated to the first division next season, while Sunset FC will play in a promotion/relegation game following the completion of the MFD.
