A late header from Future’s James Ebanks secured a draw against Bodden Town FC Friday (22 January) night at the Haig Bodden Football Field.
Similar to their first encounter, which ended nil-all during week four, the round 13 fixture in the Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) Men’s League also ended with both teams earning one point a piece.
After a scoreless first half, Bodden Town’s Terrence Thomas opened scoring with a goal in the 57th minute. Bodden Town seemed to be closing in on a victory with the last ten minutes of the game nearing. However, a corner kick converted and found the back of the net after an accurate header from Ebanks to end the game 1-1.

“It feels really nice because we’ve been training really hard,” Ebanks told Cay 03 Sports after the match. “To go down with a goal and the type of goal we went down with, it really brought back the confidence in our team to keep pushing on.”
Currently Future sits at 4th place in the CIFA Men’s League with 22 points, while Bodden Town sits three points ahead. With five more games left in the league, Ebanks says anything is possible when it comes to claiming the title.
“We just have to take every game one day at a time and whatever we come up with, we come up with but we will keep fighting straight till the end,” said Ebanks.
