Caymanians’ Alison and Sarah Jackson opened their 2021 swim season for the University Northern Colorado (UNC) this past weekend at the US Air Force Academy Natatorium.
Sarah, 20, competed in three events throughout the two day swimming and diving meet, while Alison, 18, swam in five events; securing gold medals in two separate relays.
Alison, a freshman at UNC along with teammates Madelyn Moore, Katelyn Bergin and Saana Liikonen won the 200 free relay in 1:33.72 and 400 yard freestyle relay in 3:27.00.

UNC were ultimately the winners of the overall swimming and diving two day series. Defeating Air Force (120-104), Colorado Mesa (133-91) and the Colorado School of Mines (171-41).
Head Coach Lisa Ebeling commented after the meet, commending her athletes for their efforts to bring home the victory.
“We didn’t know what to expect today, but we knew we had to come in fighting if we wanted to walk away with wins,” said Ebeling. “The girls were on a mission, they swam and dove with heart and they supported one another with passion. We stepped up as a true team. I’m excited to see where this leads us into the end of the season.”
The Jackson sisters are expected to make their next appearance against Denver at Butler Hancock Pool on January 23.
