Scott Equipment captured the Bakertilly Corporate Squash League title after a close finals against KPMG Thursday (17 December) night at the South Sound Squash Club.
Scott Equipment (SE) returned to the league after withdrawing from the previous season that was won by two time champions Bakertilly.
The finals saw SE win the league by a razor three points. The two teams severd off in the A Divison to begin, with SE’s Julian Jervis defeating Kasun Abeysekera 30-22.
SE’s would keep that lead rolling in the B Division after Jody Jervis edged Christian Henning in a close game that ending 35-32.
KMPG came up short yet again in the C Division, thanks SE’s trick hitter Jonathan Crossan who won by 11 points over Sam Story.
Nick McLaughlin of KPMG came out swinging in the D Division to close the gap for his team, winning 30-14.
Heading into the doubles, KMPG was only trailing by six points and with the team pulling off a comeback just before the final game, it seemed as if momentum was on their side. However, SE’s team of Julian and Crossan ultimately defeated team KPMG 15-12 to win the final game of the Cayman Islands Squash season.
In additon, former champions Bakertilly placed third, followed by Phoenix Group, Walkers, SSSC Ladies, PwC and Dart UNO.
