Top striker potentially out of action

Leading goal scorer in the Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) league, Jonah Ebanks may be out of action.

During his President’s Cup match against Latinos Wednesday (2 December) night, Ebanks appeared to have hyperextended his left knee early in the game.

The Cayman Islands national striker tried to continue playing after he initially injured himself, but was unable to finish the match and was subbed off in the 34th minute.

“At the moment I can’t tell but once I get it checked out we’ll see what happens,” Ebanks said Wednesday night.

Scholars’ medical personnel attends to Jonah Ebanks after taking a bad fall during the game between Scholars and Latinos in the CIFA President’s Cup.

Ebanks currently leads the goal scoring charts for Scholars International in the league at 17 goals.

Scholars is scheduled to face Future this Sunday (6 December) in the league and Ebanks is hoping to contribute on the day. “I hope to be 100% this Sunday but we’ll see,” said Ebanks.
