Annual pirates’ week sea swim set to take off

Swimmers are gearing up for the 40th annual Pirates Week Open Water Swim, set to take place this Saturday (21 November) at Governors Beach on West Bay road.

It’s an event organised by KMPG, Pirates Week Cayman National Festival and the Cayman Islands Aquatic Swimming Association (CIASA).

The event will host a 5K, 3K and 1K swim that will loop; meaning all swimmers will start and finish at Governor’s Beach. Swimmers will be assigned to a age group (10-19, 20-39, 40-59 and 60 & over) during registration.

They will also receive T-shirts, refreshments and swim caps which all swimmers are required to wear during the race. In addition, awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in their respective divisions.
