Scholars’ striker Jonah Ebanks now has 14 goals in the 2020-2021 Cayman Islands Football Association League following a 3-0 victory over Sunset FC Sunday (15 November) night.
It took both Scholars’ Kimani Finn and former Elite striker Christopher Reeves to tie 13 goals after playing 11 league matches last season.
However, Ebanks has surpassed that tally after playing only seven times and with 10 league matches left to go, Ebanks hopes to continue his goal scoring performances.
“I’m definitely aiming to keep this up throughout the season,” Ebanks told Cay 03 Sports.
The 24 year old Cayman Islands national player has been kicking a ball since he was in elementary school and says his hard work is now paying off.
“To be honest, I feel very proud of myself because obviously I’ve been putting in the work,” said Ebanks. “Throughout the season and in preseason, so I’m glad to see that its actually showing on the pitch.”
Scholars currently sits undefeated atop the league table as the best offensive team, registering 31 goals and also having the best defense, only conceiving 3 goals.
