Round 5 results in the CIFA senior leagues

The Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) Men’s Premier League

Scholars ISC is currently leading the charge in the league; winning all five games including their most recent match against Academy that ended 1-0 after a single goal from D’Andre Rowe in 55th minute.

Underdog’s George Town SC hand Latinos their first loss of the season after a 2-1 victory. George Town’s Tex Whitelocke was the man behind the two goals for his team, scoring once in 73rd minute and again in the 77th. While Latinos’ Chris Reeves scored his first goal in his new team via penalty in the 17th minute.

The match between Elite and Bodden Town ending 0-0. The results marked Elite’s first draw of the season and Bodden Town’s second.

Future captured three points during their round 5 fixture after beating Sunset 2-1. Future’s Brandon Ebanks opened with a goal five minutes into the game. Christian Hughes equalized in 76th minute but Future’s Jordan Ebanks would find the back of the net with only 2 minutes left on the clock.

The match between Roma United and East End United was postponed until further notice.

CIFA Men’s Division 1 League

Scholars ISC B team also took bragging rights over Academy in the division 1 league after a 4-2 victory. Besides scoring on themselves in the 32nd minute; goals that benefited Scholars came from Rudolph Bailey (18th minute), Yakeni Mullings (25th minute) and two from Dwight Dunk during the 42nd and the 61st. Academy’s Sean Whewell converted a penalty in the 65th minute.

Alliance topped East End 1-0 during their encounter, with the one goal coming from Carlos Fernandez in the 12th minute.

Prospect Academy continued their climb to the top after defeating Elite 2-0. Doel Lyons added to his top scoring performance in the 88th minute which came after teammate Marton Ebanks’ goal in the 55th.

Cayman Athletic cant seem to get going in the league; losing yet again in their round 5 fixture against Sunset FC B. The game finished 1-0 with one goal coming from Josh Small in the 11th minute.

The game between Bodden Town B and Roma United B was postponed until further notice.

CIFA Women’s League

An embarrassing loss for Sunset, after putting the ball in their own net to give Roma Fusion a 1-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Elite winning streak extended to three following their 1-0 win over Scholars. Shanice Montieth was the woman behind the goal that came in the 56th minute.
