All major sporting leagues in the Cayman Islands has resumed it’s competition besides one. The Cayman Islands Basketball Association (CIBA) league has yet to play a single game since March despite COVID-19 restrictions being eased.
CIBA’s Technical Director Victor ‘Voot’ O’Garro told Cay 03 Sports that he and his team has been trying to get games rolling. However, finding a court to play on has delayed the process of starting back.
“All Government facilities have been put on hold, until the end of October; beginning of November,” said O’Garro. “Also the court at Camana Bay is booked already for the weekends, so we are in a situation where we have no place to start our games.”
With government basketball facilities set to reopen within a month’s time, O’Garro stated once his association gets the “green-light,” league play will commence.
