Latinos FC defeated Bodden Town FC Sunday (13 September) night to win the Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) Charity Shield. It marked the second major win for the spanish team after defeating Scholars in the President’s Cup finals in August.
“We prepared for this finals and it wasn’t an easy game,” said Latinos’ Chairman Saulo Castro. “Bodden Town is one of the top teams, Scholars as well but they need to realize that we have good players too and we’re coming for more.”

It has become trend now for Latinos, that wherever the team plays, spanish fans won’t be far behind. Sunday’s Charity Shield finals brought out over 150 fans at the Annex, which was by far the most fans in attendance for any game since the final 2019-2020 league matches.
5 minutes into the game Latinos’ Raul Garcia found the back of the net, in what would be the first and only goal of the game.
“The players did what they had to do tonight and the result is what we’ve been training for the last few weeks,” said Castro.
