Bakertilly captured the 2020 corporate squash league trophy after defeating Phoenix in the finals Thursday (3 September) night at the South Sound Squash Club (SSSC). It marked the second season in a row the team finished as league champions.
According to SSSC Manager Marlene West, one of Phoenix’s B players was out injured for their respective match. However, Phoenix still managed to put on an overall competitive performance throughout all the games but it wasn’t enough to beat the favourites.

At the end of the night it was Bakertilly finishing with 139 points while Phoenix finished with 103. “It was a great season overall,” said Bakertilly representative Richard Reading. “We obviously had a four month break in the middle but we came back and manage to get all the games in. It was a tough season, a long season but we got through and had some good games.”

In addition, PWC took third place after edging KPMG by 11 points. The scores finished at 97-86. “The players appeared to have a good time and all players are keen to start the next season which will kick off in October,” said West in an email.
“Thank you to all companies that entered. We welcome more companies or entities to get a team together and enter.”
