North Side bad run continues through Roma United

The final matches in the Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) League kicked off Saturday night (15 August) at the Annex, with Roma United handing North Side their twelfth consecutive loss. It was the first official match in the men’s league since the government implemented COVID-19 restrictions back in March.

Roma’s Keneil Hillock opened the scoring early against North Side with a goal in the 3rd minute, followed by teammate Crishnor Beckford in the 39th to close the first half 2-0. North Side came back in the second half focusing on defense but were too aggressive in the 60th minute, giving away a penalty to which Roma’s Andre Allen capitalize on, ending the game 3-0.

With that, Roma finished their season mid-table with 13 points. While North Side made history in the men’s league by becoming the first team to go without a win or a draw for an entire CIFA season. In addition, Alliance forfeited 3 points to Future for their schedule fixture Saturday evening due players not showing up.

The final matches in the CIFA Premier League resumes Sunday (16 August) night.
